CompTIA A+ Certification Track

The Comptia A+ Certification Preparation track consists of two exams. The first exam is CompTIA A+ Essentials Code: 220-601. One of the electives, CompTIA A+ Remote Support Technician Exam (220-603) is geared toward individuals who will remotely interact with customers for support purposes via the telephone or e-mail. People who take this test hold positions such as remote support technician, service desk technician, support center technician, Help Desk technician, and Call Center technician

The CompTIA A+ Remote Support Technician Exam (220-603) measures necessary competencies for an entry-level IT professional with the equivalent knowledge of at least 500 hours of hands-on experience in the lab or field. Hands-on experience or equivalent knowledge includes installing, building, upgrading, repairing, configuring, troubleshooting, optimizing, diagnosing, and performing preventive maintenance of basic personal computer hardware and operating systems.

CompTIA A+ Cwsp Certification Preparation Remote Support Technician Exam covers the basic skills needed by any entry-level service technician who need to interact with the customers remotely. The exam covers information on basic hardware and operating systems, including installation, repair, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance and security. The CompTIA A+ Remote Support Technician Exam (220-603)) exam is of 90 minutes duration, and has 100 questions with a minimum passing score of 700 on a scale of 100 to 900. The candidates would have ideally appeared in and passed the CompTIA A+ Essentials(220-601) exam.

This is due to the fact that most of the interaction with the customers is expected to happen over phone and other means of communication. The technical support personnel are not expected to be deployed at customer locations. This certification is clearly suitable for the new technology companies – BPOs for example, where technical support group is offshore and problem solving tasks are performed remotely.
