HP-UX Certification - How to Guide

HP AIS Preparation (Hewlett Packard UniX) is Hewlett-Packard's proprietary implementation of the UNIX operating system. HP-UX was the first Unix to offer access control lists for file access permissions as an alternative to the standard Unix permissions system. HP-UX was also among the first Unix systems to include a built-in logical volume manager.HP-UX 11i is currently credited with leadership in integrated mission-critical virtualization, observed performance, high availability and manageability. HP ASE Preparation Certification is a 2 Tier program , you start from HP-UX Certified System Administration (HP-UX CSA certification) and can then move to HP-UX Certified System Engineer (CSE). The details of required exams and guide to step by step progress is as follows:

Tier 1: HP-UX Certified System Administration ((HP-UX CSA certification):

If you want to get HP-UX certification the first step is becoming HP-UX Certified System Administrator by obtaining HP-UX CSA certification. The required exam is : HP0-095

Tier 2: HP-UX Certified System Engineer (CSE):

It is the second level of HP-UX certification and if you want to go a step furthur from HP-UX CSA certification then HP-UX CSE is the your next destination.

If you want to prepare for Hp-UX CSE certification, then you must:

• Pass the "HP-UX System Administration" exam HP0-095
• And "HP-UX Advanced System Administration" exam HP0-096
• Plus you need to pass anyone of the exams from the following three:

>> "HP-UX CSE - High Availability" exam HP0-914
>> "HP-UX CSE - Virtual Server Environment (VSE)" exam HP0-090
>> "HP-UX CSE - Networking/Security" exam HP0-094

Additionally, it is required that the candidate have 2-3 years of hands-on experience administrating HP-UX systems
