Are internships mandatory? Does it help get a better job?

For every student there Career Planning is among one of the most crucial challanges that anyone can meet in his life. Being a teacher and education consultant I have found interships very helpful and less risky as comapred to other options of career planning.

Actually internships allow candidates to validate a particluar field with hands-on experience i.e. prior to indulge yourself completely in a particular field it is advised to hae some internship in that area so that you can have an idea about that filed and you can know it's actual industry value before risking your career in a field that is going to die soon.

Interships also help you evaluate your personal interests and abilities more pratically and in a realistic manner. Sometimes students feel that as they are comfortable with computers while chating and using facebook etc. , they will be equally comfortable in programming, networking or any other computer related job. Now sometimes this works and sometimes students face problems, now if prior to moving to any particular or specialized area of work haning an intership allows students to avoid making mistakes before it's too late. This evaluation also helps them in their furthur studies.

To summurize, what I have emphasized so far is:

• Interships play major role in career planning
• Interships help us evaluate ourselves
• This helps us in deciding furthur studies also.

Now, we come to the point How Interships Help Get A Better Job ?

Being a recruiter myself, I know that we , the employers, seek candidates that have versitile experience if they are not professionals already. Fresh candidates right from the college and university do not alwys get picked up quickly, I do not want to discourage anyone but this is fact ! The World is getting competitive and diverse with every passing day, although specialist in every field are at high esteem but they know that they have to always learn some extra bits of things to keep them in pace with the every changing scenarios.

So I will emphasize the fact that Interships add diversity to your resume, they make an employer feel that you have the potential for the job and if you beleive me sometimes you get your ideal job-offer just due to your intership. It happened to me, it happens to many people that sometimes you get hired for that extra bit of knowledge that had been hidden under your professional skills.

So I will stongly encourage people to look for internships and take your chance. They improve your learning, they spice up your resume and they can help you get an ideal job.
